“Women and gender-expansive folks have just as much to contribute to production and engineering as men, but historically have been a tiny percentage. We have a unique perspective to share that has been shaped through our identity, and everyone deserves to have their perspective heard.
As a femme person in music, I’ve witnessed firsthand the gender gap in the music industry. I’ve been in recording classes in college where I was 1 of 2 non-men in the class, and it feels isolating. I’m grateful that I got to be a part of a project that is working to close that gap.”
